●Matthew was born in Welwyn Garden City, England.
He started sequence dancing at the age of 6 and competed in both junior and juvenile competitions. As an amateur dancer, Matthew was the under 21 champion .
●At 19, Matthew retired from Sequence Dance competitions to pursue his love of performance art, enrolling on the 3 year drama course at Londons Academy of Live and Recorded Arts.
●Matthew & Maya met when they were both cast members of the London Theatre of Ballroom dance Company. They performed at the Royal Albert Hall in 2000, just as they were both finishing up the last year of their respective Courses.
Matthew appeared in the stage show "Ballroom" and went on a three-month British tour.
He also has experience as an actor on stage, movies, TV and commercials.
● In 2006, Matthew & Maya made the big decision to move to Japan.
In 2008, Matthew & Maya made their Professional Ballroom Dance Debut.

Opened M & M British Ballroom Dance Company.
In 2019 Matthew & Maya registerd with the British Dance Council as Professional Dancers.
They entered the British National Competition in Blackpool for the first time in November 2019.

Established M&M British Ballroom Dance Studio !
